The most successful project always starts with a complete set of blueprints. You can eliminate a lot of headaches down the road by properly designing your home. Many people have purchased a log home package based on a "rendering" that quite honestly cannot be built the way it is drawn. At Deep Creek Log Homes, we have the most experienced design team in the industry who are required to go in the field and actually build log homes along with designing them. We are one of the only companies in the log home industry that can make such a statement, and the benefit it provides our customers is the peace of mind to know that the surprises will be minimal.
Once your plan is complete there are options for you to consider based on what you feel makes the most sense. We don't believe that any two people are the same when it comes to what will work the best for them. That is why we customize every service option to each customers needs.
The majority of companies in our industry deliver a log home package to your site and then you find someone to construct it. Some companies deliver the package and then provide you with a list of dry in contractors to choose from. In either case, no matter what you are told, you are dealing with two different entities. The sales company is not contractually responsible for the work the builder performs, and rarely can the builder stand behind materials that he did not provide. That puts you, the one who is paying the bills squarely in the middle of any potential conflict.
At Deep Creek Log Homes, we are licensed general contractors with our own crews and we provide you with one contract to design, produce, deliver, unload, and build your home in NC and surrounding states.
That's not to say that we will not just sell the package. There are certainly some cases where we've done that at our customers request. In the event that you choose to use a local contractor to cut back on the travel expenses, or you have someone you know and trust, or for whatever reason, we will send one of our foremen to the site to help them get started. These are people on our staff who are hands on, in the field building log homes every day provide real help. One of the advantages in our system is that it was designed by contractors to be build-able. No special cranes or rigging are required.
